Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist

Dr. Raugust graduated from medical school at the University of Alberta and completed his post-graduate training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Calgary. He is a strong proponent for the importance of active patient involvement in management of injuries, striving to encourage lifestyle changes that will result in a lifetime of good health.

Special Interests: pediatric sports medicine, sports medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, ultrasound guided interventions.

DR. VISHAL TULSI, MD, FRCPC, CSCN (EMG)

Dr. Tulsi graduated from medical school at Queen’s University and completed his post-graduate training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Calgary. His clinical interests include myofascial pain management, ultrasound-guided muscle injections, EMG, and spasticity. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Calgary and is involved in teaching medical students and residents. He also has a strong interest in clinical administration and quality improvement initiatives.

DR. LESLIE LAPLANTE, MD, FRCPC, CSCN (EMG)

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist

Dr. LaPlante graduated from medical school at the University of Alberta and completed his post-graduate training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Calgary.

Special Interests: musculoskeletal medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, ultrasound guided interventions.

DR. CHRISTOPHER HUANG, MD, FRCPC, CSCN (EMG)

Dr. Huang received his undergraduate degree at Queen’s University, followed by a medical degree at the University of Saskatchewan. He completed his specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta. Dr. Huang’s clinical practice focuses on electromyography and general musculoskeletal medicine. In addition to his work at Kinesis Medical Centre, he also spends time working at the Foothills Spine Triage and Assessment Clinic and the PLC Hand and Wrist Clinic.

DR. DARREN CHIU, MD, FRCPC, CSCN (EMG)

Dr. Chiu’s medical practice is focused on electrodiagnostics (EMG), general musculoskeletal medicine, and ultrasound-guided interventions. He commonly will assess for issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome, nerve root impingements, other peripheral nerve related disease, and musculoskeletal related pain.

Dr. Chiu completed both medical school and his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation medical residency at the University of Alberta. After graduating, Dr. Chiu moved to Calgary where he serves as the EMG director at Kinesis Medical Centre and a clinical lecturer at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine. He is also clinical staff at the Spine Triage and Assessment Clinic at the Foothills Medical Centre and at the Hand and Wrist Clinic at the Peter Lougheed Centre.

DR. PAUL REGLIN, MD, FRCPC, CSCN (EMG)

Dr. Reglin attended the University of Calgary where he achieved his degree with distinction in science, followed by his medical degree and his post-graduate training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

His interests lie in ultrasound musculoskeletal interventions, electromyography, and acute sports medicine. Dr. Reglin is also a clinical lecturer with the University of Calgary.

DR. DAVE NABETA, MD, FRCPC, CSCN (EMG)

Dr. Nabeta graduated medical school from the University of Alberta and completed his specialty training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Calgary. Dr. Nabeta’s special interests include musculoskeletal medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, and ultrasound guided interventions. When not at work, Dave is on the move with his wife and two young children. He can be found mountain biking in Bragg Creek, hiking in Kananaskis, rock climbing in Banff or skiing in Yoho. When at home, he is often working in his back yard tending to his green house and gardens.

DR. ANDREW MALAWSKI, MD, FRCPC, CSCN (EMG)

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Specialist

Dr. Malawski graduated from medical school at the University of Saskatchewan and completed his post-graduate training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. His special interests include musculoskeletal medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, and ultrasound guided interventions.

DR. NANCY SCHOLZ, MD, Mkin, FRCPC (PMR), CSCN (EMG)

Dr Scholz attended the University of Calgary and completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in applied exercise physiology, followed by medical school and residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. Her clinical practice focuses on musculoskeletal medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, and ultrasound-guided interventions.

DR. JENNIFER LITZENBERGER, MD, FRCPC, CSCN (EMG)

Dr. Litzenberger completed her medical school and her residency training in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Calgary. 

 
Dr. Litzenberger's clinical practice focuses on general musculoskeletal medicine, electromyography and ultrasound-guided interventions. She also has special interest in spinal cord injury rehabilitation, neuromuscular medicine, spasticity management, and adaptive sports medicine.

DR. JACQUI STONE, MBA, MD, FRCPC

 

Dr. Stone completed medical school and residency training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Calgary. Dr. Stone has a background in Kinesiology and is passionate about rehabilitation and exercise in the treatment of various musculoskeletal conditions. When she isn’t working, you can find her in the mountains, running, cycling, on the golf course, or spending time with her family and puppy.  

 
Special interests: Musculoskeletal medicine, electromyography, and ultrasound-guided interventions. Additional areas of interest include pediatric and adult sports medicine, regenerative medicine, SI joint pain, and osteoarthritis management.

DR. STEPHEN HUNG, BSc, MD, FRCPC, CSCN, CIME 

 

Dr. Hung completed his undergraduate and medical degrees at the University of Calgary followed by his postgraduate residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta. He pursued additional training in electrodiagnostic studies, sports medicine, fluoroscopic and ultrasound musculoskeletal guided and independent medical examinations.

His clinical interests include the complete management of musculoskeletal medicine including interventional procedures under fluoroscopic and ultrasound guidance, sports medicine (including e-sports), electromyography (EMG) and cancer rehabilitation. He believes strongly in interdisciplinary care working alongside allied health in multiple settings providing physiatric care. He was previously a team physician for NAIT Ooks Athletics.

He has an appointment of clinical lecturer for the Division of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta and has an active ongoing interest in medical education.

DR. ZAIN RAJABALI, MD, FRCPC, CSCN, CIME

 

Dr. Rajabali graduated both medical school his post-graduate training in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta. His practice interests include musculoskeletal rehabilitation, ultrasound-guided interventional pain and orthobiologic medicine, and electrodiagnostics (EMG). He is currently a Clinical Lecturer in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Alberta and is involved in the education and training of both medical students and resident physicians.

Special Interests: Musculoskeletal medicine, electrodiagnostic medicine, ultrasound-guided interventional pain management, orthobiologics.

DR. REHANA MURANI, BSc, MD, FRCPC, CSCN, Dip. Sports Med

 

Dr. Rehana Murani was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the University of South Florida while playing NCAA division one soccer. She returned to Canada in 2012 to complete her MD at the University of Alberta. This was followed by a five-year specialization in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Calgary. While completing her training, she was able to continue to compete in soccer at the semi-professional level.  She has obtained her Canadian certification in Sports Medicine, as well as an informal fellowship in interventional and musculoskeletal ultrasound, which are two of her main interests.

 

Her other clinical interests include acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, and neuromuscular electrodiagnostics. 

 

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her young family, playing soccer, and golfing.
